Boxing : @AertvSports to LIVE stream @KatieTaylor bout from Dungarvan on May 3rd

Philippe Brodeur, Director of Aertv said, “We got fantastic feedback and support when we stepped in last year to show Katie’s fights from Bray and the Mansion House. We can’t believe the lack of TV coverage our Olympic hero has had since her gold medal. Aertv are delighted to step in again to provide accessibility worldwide to this fight. Katie is the headline bout but we will also be covering 10 other bouts of top class boxing so it’s also great exposure for the sport. I’m sure families of the fighters who can’t attend will appreciate the coverage also”.
“Tickets are selling well and there is a great buzz about Saturday night in the town,” said Dungarvan BC Secretary Gerry O’Mahoney, the President of the IABA Munster Council.
Katie herself is looking forward to all three bouts adding: “I had a number of bouts before the London Olympics in Cork and Waterford and I got a fantastic reception and I’m looking forward to three tough bouts there this week. Competitive bouts are also very important before major tournaments,” she said.
Remaining tickets for the Cork shows are on sale from the Rochestown Park Hotel.Ring (021) 489 0800. For Dungarvan contact Gerry O’Mahoney on (087) 7545 100 or the Dungarvan Sports Centre on (058) 21324 for tickets for Saturday.
Great to see AerTV providing this service since so often fans especially in the rest of Ireland have little chance of seeing their heroes in action and not everyone can afford to always visit the National Stadium (in the case of boxing) especially as it invariably includes expensive overnight stay plus long distance car travel, expensive fuel and food costs.
Highlights of the Cork bouts from 19.30 (IST) with ’ FREE’ LIVE Streaming from the Dungarvan Sports centre scheduled from 20.00 (IST).
