We’re not trying to make you even more full of desperation and rage this week, we think this will be worth watching. It will remind us of certain overwhelming unpleasantries sure, but then there’s Vin B to cheer us up throughout!

The journalist and a selection of panelists will discuss the events surrounding the Irish government’s decision to guarantee the entire domestic banking system on the night of September 29th, 2008. The move became one of the most significant political decisions made in modern Irish history. A move that proved to effect all citizens of the State and create extremely hard fiscal measures.

We’ll be tuning in to see how the discussion goes and you never know there may well be some class of a fight…

But this recent hack saw the Apple developer site completely offline with app developers unable to test, submit or update any submissions. With over 275,000 registered developers at the time of the hack, that’s a lot of delayed development work. If you’re unsure what else someone could gain from this kind of hack, apart from causing an online fury, watch this.

Ibrahim Balic, a Turkish researcher, claimed responsibility for the hack saying that his intention was to raise the vulnerabilty of Apple’s security and demonstrate how the site could leak user information. He uploaded a YouTube video that appears to show developer names and IDs. However, the information shown in the video comes from older services like Demon and Freeserve. Apple has remained quiet on who carried out the attack.

Apple acted by announcing that it would temporarily extend subscriptions that ran out during the time the site was offline and allow any published software associated with these accounts to remain active. Apple also rolled out this status page so developers could see the site and availability of different systems restored while they overhauled their security.

The consequence for Apple is bad press, online fury and a loss of client confidence in their security system. In a world full of data and hackers who keep getting better, protecting client information is hugely important to companies. In an area like development for Apps, an ever growing market, it seems fundamental.

21 June 2013:- Aslan are delighted to announce that U2 are set to take part in the worldwide streaming of ‘A Night For Christy’ from their studio in New York.  U2 will perform the iconic Aslan track, ‘This Is’ for audiences worldwide as Aslan, in association with technology and production partners Aer TV, Streamworks, Edgecast and Mobile Rider, will stream the event to a global audience.

While access to the live stream from the concert will be free, Aslan have asked that viewers make a donation to this charitable event on the website, prior to viewing. The sold out event takes place in Dublin’s Olympia Theatre this evening, Friday 21 June.

Aslan announced details of the worldwide streaming on their Facebook/Twitter last week and with the support of the streaming team, will to be able to provide a global audience with the opportunity of attending, participating and donating to this unique event.

Mark Downing of AMA Music Agency  said, “We’re delighted by the incredible response that we’ve had from the folks at AerTV, Streamworks, Edgecast and Mobile Rider – they’ve pulled together to make this happen in incredibly short timescales and under huge pressure, and are doing this entirely at their own cost. We’re really grateful for all they’ve done”.

Speaking on behalf of Streamworks, Edgecast and Mobile Rider, Ray Mia CEO of Streamworks said, “We are pleased to have the chance to participate and provide a means for a global audience to attend this special event.”

All artists have handpicked their favourite song from the Aslan setlist and will step into Christy’s shoes for one night only. It’s an unmissable night for fans as they can experience each performers’ own interpretation of an Aslan song performed with Aslan exclusively in the Olympia Theatre on Friday 21 June.
